Committee Responsibilities
Housing Committee
This committee addresses the program areas of Public Housing and Section 8, recommends actions to the Executive Committee regarding, but not limited to, program dollars, legislation, regulations, administration at federal, state and local levels and the effective representation of the membership's interest.
This committee meets at least twice per year, at the annual
meeting and at the Winter Workshop. Other meetings may be
called as deemed necessary by the V.P. A written report from
the V.P. of this committee shall be presented at all Board
Meetings.
This committee shall be responsible for establishing training
topics and confirming trainers for the Annual Conference and
the Winter Workshop for the Public Housing and Section 8 tracks.
These tracks shall be developed at least two months prior
to the respective conference. The Housing Committee will be
responsible for confirming moderators for the Public Housing
and Section 8 training tracks at the Annual Conference and
Winter Workshop.
Professional Development
This
committee focuses on the general and specific areas of career
identification, training and education, certification and
credentialing, and the professionalization of the members
engaged in such job opportunities.
This committee meets at least twice per year, at the annual
meeting and at the Winter Worksho. Other meetings shall be
called as deemed necessary by the V.P. A written report from
the V.P. of this committee shall be presented at all Board
Meetings.
This committee establishes training topics and confirms professional
trainers for the two Administrative Trainings scheduled each
year, usually in January and August, and the Maintenance Seminar
scheduled in June of each year. In order to allow for timely
mailing of registration packets, training topics shall be
developed by this committee at least 90 days prior to the
training date(s).
In addition, this committee develops topics and confirms trainers
for the Professional Development / General Interest Track
at the Annual Conference and Winter Workshop. These tracks
shall be developed at least two months prior to the respective
conference. The Professional Development Committee will be
responsible for confirming moderators for the Professional
Development / General Interest training track at the Annual
Conference and Winter Workshop.
Commissioners
This committee works to broaden the constituency and support programs to expand the skills of commissioners to effectively fulfill their responsibilities.
This committee meets a least twice per year, at the annual meeting and at the winter conference. Other meetings may be called as deemed necessary by the V.P. A written report from the V.P of this committee shall be presented at all Board Meetings.
This committee develops the training topics and identifies trainers for Commissioners training track at the Annual and Winter Conferences. These tracks shall be developed at least two months prior to the respective conferences. The Commissioner Committee will be responsible for confirming moderators for the Commissioners track at the Annual and Winter Conferences.
Community Revitalization and Development Committee
This committee addresses the program areas of Community Development and Revitalization, recommending actions to the Executive Committee regarding, but not limited to, program dollars, legislation, regulation, administration at federal, state and local levels and the effective representation of the membership's interest.
This committee meets at least twice per year, at the annual meeting and at the winter conference. Other meetings may be called as deemed necessary by the V.P. A written report from the V.P. of this committee shall be presented at all Board Meetings.
This committee establishes training topics and confirms trainers for the Annual Conference and Winter Workshop for the CR&D track. These tracks must be developed at least two months prior to the respective conference. The CR&D Committee will be responsible for confirming moderators for the CR&D training tracks at the Annual and Winter Conferences.
Member Services Committee
This committee
serves the general and special interests of the members which
cut across program and professional lines; represents the
interest of special interests groups within the membership,
works to coordinate supportive products and services rendered
by the Association such as conferences and conventions, workshops
and seminars, publication, representation and such related
matters.
This committee must meet at least twice per year, at the annual meeting and at the winter conference. Other meetings may be called as deemed necessary by the V.P. A written report from the V.P. of this committee shall be presented at all Board Meetings.
This committee shall have a Member Services Booth set up and
have committee persons assigned to work the booth throughout
each conference to promote membership in Texas NAHRO. Any
promotional items, such as shirts, caps, etc., will be sold
at the Member Services Booth.
The Member Services Committee determines promotional items that the chapter will sell, within budget guidelines, ordering these items and keeping proper inventory control.
This committee solicits new members and assists with the membership drive each year. In addition, this committee is responsible for reviewing membership fees and making recommendations for change to the Executive Board as appropriate.
Vendor Committee
This committee helps solicit Associate Members to join Texas NAHRO and solicits exhibitors and sponsors for the annual and winter conferences.
This committee also brainstorms ideas to increase traffic flow through the exhibit hall at shows and visits with exhibitors during the show to gather feedback.
The Vendor Committee also makes recommendations to the Executive Board regarding exhibitor registration fees, etc.
The Vendor Committee works the Vendor Registration Booth at the Annual Conference and holding a pre-conference meeting with the vendors, as necessary, to discuss trade show items.
